Columbus McKinnon's Lexington Facility was awarded the 2019 Industry of the Year Award by the Chamber of Commerce.

The Lexington Facility was nominated by one of the local Chamber of Commerce members selected by the Board of Directors. Typically it goes to the Industry that has done the most to promote the community. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Stable or growing employment
  • Educational support for the community
  • Promotion of the community to prospective new businesses
  • Involvement in community with charitable organizations
  • Governmental agency support

Rodney L. Reynolds, General Manager of Columbus McKinnon's Lexington Chain Operations, has dedicated considerable time to the community. This past year he has been involved with the ACT Workforce Ready program, a national certification program for local schools to be tested and obtain certificates for their competencies. This gives high visibility to potential employers and showcases student "core competencies" as they enter the workforce. Rodney is also on the Board of Directors of the local Carl Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse.  This is an organization that works with Law enforcement and the community to help fight for and care for abused children.

Mr. Reynolds is also Chairman of the Board of the local (Henderson County) chapter of CASA – “Court Appointed Special Advocates,” working with the court system to advocate for children that have been removed from a problem home. Volunteers work hand in hand with the government social workers to assure the best interests of the child are always in the forefront.

The Lexington facility is active with the American Cancer Society’s “Relay for Life” program every year, with our associates raising over $6000 each year for that charity.
