During these challenging times, it’s important we come together to meet the critical needs of the industries and businesses we serve. Capco Crane & Hoist received a call from a prominent medical manufacturer in the metro Boston area with an urgent need for a full crane system. The manufacturer needed the crane system to set up a new room to produce ventilators for hospitals on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic. The challenge – they needed the system in one week.

In the wake of this global pandemic, manufacturers and suppliers are being asked to produce goods in record time, and Capco Crane & Hoist was ready for the challenge. Relying on the company’s crane system expertise, the Capco team jumped into action. Led by head engineer, Jim Couturier, the Capco team developed a plan to work around the clock to meet this request. Tony Caputo, Capco’s President, helped Jim by running other projects to free up the team.

As a partner and authorized distributor of Columbus McKinnon products, Capco Crane & Hoist utilized a Shaw-Box wire rope hoist and end trucks to quickly start building the crane. Both the hoist and end trucks were proudly built in Columbus McKinnon’s Wadesboro, NC, manufacturing facility. A big thank you to the team at Capco Crane & Hoist for showing how, during challenging times such as these, teams can come together to help meet the needs of essential businesses and industries.
