Olmsted County, MN, takes going green to the next level with its waste-to-energy facility that burns non-recyclable refuse to produce energy. Since opening in 1987, the waste-to-energy plant has processed over 1 million tons of garbage into highpressure steam and electrical energy used by nearby government buildings and sold to the power grid.
Two automated refuse handling bridge cranes operate together on the same runway. The cranes are used to mix garbage in a large pit and feed three furnace hoppers. The end product of this facility is power generation. The system includes collision between cranes and operator pulpit controls for manual operation.

Caterpillar, Inc
Improving manufacturing flexibility and providing additional production capacity were the goals of the production line initiative of Caterpillar's Lafayette facility. Magnetek's team designed an automated monorail system which eliminates idle time, rework, and excess inventory.
Federal-Mogul
As a cost cutting measure, an auto parts manufacturer wanted to reduce the amount of people and space required to manufacture brake pads. The solution entailed creating small work cells within their manufacturing facility. Their system was improved using Magnetek AC Drives, PLC Controls and our Auto-Dispatch system.
US Air Force
The United States Air Force Base's aircraft maintenance group worked with Magnetek to design a customized overhead materials delivery system that automated and integrated nine overhead monorail carriers that automated and streamlined the wheel and strut paint line process.
