Three Columbus McKinnon Associates Appointed to Leadership Positions Within CMAA and ECMA

With nearly 150 years of experience in motion control products and applications, Columbus McKinnon and its associates have a deep understanding of overhead crane systems and components, hoists, controls, and the engineering behind intelligent lifting and positioning technology. Bringing this knowledge to the material handling industry, this month, the Crane Manufacturer’s Association of America (CMAA) and Electrification and Controls Manufacturers Association (ECMA) have appointed three Columbus McKinnon Associates to leadership positions within their organizations for 2021-2022.

Dan Beilfuss: CMAA Vice President
As Vice President of CMAA, Dan will serve alongside the president at membership and committee meetings and will help manage and exercise executive power over business affairs of the Association. This includes policies, programs, orders, and resolutions adopted or approved by executive members; overseeing voting of executive member companies, and appointing committee chairs in standing and ad-hoc committees, including Nominating Committee, Statistics Committee, Finance Committee, Strategic Planning Committee, Engineering and Service Committee. Dan previously served as Chairman of ECMA (2012-2013), CMAA Engineering Committee Assistant Vice-President (2015-2016), and CMAA Engineering Committee Vice President (2017-2018). Dan is the Director of Sales in the Americas for Columbus McKinnon’s Crane Solutions Group.

Bob Kotel: CMAA Engineering Committee Vice President
As Vice President of CMAA’s Engineering Committee, Bob will oversee the activities of the committee relating to crane engineering, safety, inspection, service, and training. In addition, Bob will manage the preparation of specifications, standards, guidelines, OSHA Fact & Tip Sheets, and other written materials from the engineering sub-committees for submission to the members of the Crane Manufacturer’s Association for action and approval. Bob previously served as the Assistant Vice President of CMAA’s Engineering Committee in 2019-2020. Bob is a Global Configuration Engineer at Columbus McKinnon.

Wayne Goodspeed: ECMA Vice Chair
As Vice Chair of the Electrification and Controls Manufacturers Association (ECMA), Wayne will assist the Chairperson in overseeing the development of new standards related to electrification and controlling equipment for material handling. In addition, Wayne will help lead the organization in the development of educational materials, collecting and distributing industry statistics and providing consultation and expertise to other MHI organizations. Wayne also currently serves as Vice Chair of the Electrical Sub-Committee within the CMAA Engineering Committee. Wayne is the Manager of Sales, Application Engineering and Customer Service, Material Handling for Columbus McKinnon’s Crane Solutions Group.

CMAA Overview

ECMA Overview
ECMA is the Electrification and Controls Manufacturers Association, an independent trade association affiliated with the Material Handling Industry.  ECMA develops standards for the manufacturing, supply and safe use of electrification and controls equipment for material handling applications, and published several specifications referenced in CMAA Spec #70 & #74. Members include the industry’s leading suppliers of electrification and controls devices.
