For more than 30 years, the Magnetek brand has served the needs of both traditional and emerging commercial markets that are increasingly dependent on “smart” power. Our customers rely on our power and motion control expertise to develop technology and solutions for their unique applications. Whether it’s material handling, elevator, mobile hydraulic or mining, we have a fundamental understanding of our customers’ needs and we apply our knowledge of digital power and motion control to enhance their success. As a leading supplier of digital drive systems for crane and hoist applications, we are also dedicated to energy efficiency. Our Magnetek-brand, Energy Engineered® products include radio remote controls, braking and collision avoidance subsystems and motors for industrial cranes and hoists; digital motion control systems for elevators; and drive systems for mining equipment. From crane controls to power delivery systems, Magnetek brand products represent quality and innovation in motion control technology.
Pioneering the use of variable frequency and wireless controls on overhead cranes, the Magnetek brand represents years of experience in the material handling industry. Backed by state-of-the-art manufacturing, technical engineering and best-in-class application support, our products are incorporated into turnkey solutions and innovative control systems for a variety of industries.
Work directly with our Engineered-to-Order (ETO) team by submitting one of the Magnetek Application Questionnaire forms. These questionnaires are available for drive, brake, radio, mobile hydraulic, OmniPulse DDC, MagnePulse DMC Series 2, festoon, AC line regenerative, or locomotive products and applications.
Combining radios, drives, motors, brakes, and automation programming, Intelli-Guide allows operators to automatically send a load to different pre-programmed areas in a facility with the push of a button. Then, as the load moves to the programmed destination along a determined route, the operator can work on a different task or start on the next step of the production process, increasing productivity and efficiency.
At Columbus McKinnon, we are dedicated to accelerating innovation and expanding our portfolio of automation and diagnostic solutions. One way we are doing this is through the development of intelligent automation solutions for new and existing cranes. See how our technology is helping to create the smart cranes of the future.
New Magnetek-brand IMPULSE Series 5 Variable Frequency Drives are designed to serve as the intelligent foundation for overhead cranes and hoist systems. This recorded webinar provides a detailed look at the new IMPULSE·G+/VG+ Series 5 VFDs and their proper application for overhead cranes. The webinar details the Series 5 drive including a comparison to Series 4, new features, available accessories and more!
Our automated crane systems are designed to improve safety, uptime and productivity in your facility. Not only does crane automation technology allow you to build safety right into equipment with no-fly zones and off-center pick prevention, it also provides you with real-time data and information that enables you to improve operational efficiency and make smarter decisions, faster.
Columbus McKinnon’s Unified and Magnetek brands bring more than 20 years of experience in delivering automated systems to the automotive industry. Our high-technology solutions are featured throughout the automotive manufacturing process, including ergonomic and autonomous workstations like ProPath™ and Intelli-Guide™.
Columbus McKinnon offers intelligent solutions from ceiling to floor for all types of manufacturing applications. From industrial actuators to industrial automation systems, we are here to help you increase your facility's safety, uptime, and productivity.
Intelligent motion solutions build safety right into the steel handling equipment, systems, and processes running in the steel mill, helping you keep operators safe and better informed of system status, equipment life, and so much more. We understand the importance of working efficiently and strive to develop solutions that enable you to do so.
The Flex Fit series of wireless controls is a flexible and cost-effective option for mobile hydraulic applications. Compared to restrictive, hardwired pendants or stationary consoles, wireless Flex Fit controls help improve operator mobility. Operators are not tethered to equipment with a radio, and therefore are free to move away from the machine and potentially dangerous situations while keeping equipment running efficiently. Today, the Magnetek brand is known worldwide for the development, manufacture, and marketing of digital power and motion control systems for material handling, people-moving, and mining applications. The company began in 1984 through the formation of the LBO of Litton's Magnetics Group, including Louis Allis Drives & Systems.
In 1986, Magnetek acquired the Power Controls Corporation and in 1999 Electromotive Systems Inc. and Mondel Engineering. These two companies added electrification and control products to the company's portfolio as well as a full line of brakes used in a variety of industries. And, in 2003, with the acquisition of Telemotive Industrial Controls, the company would also add radio controls for overhead cranes into the mix.
Magnetek joined the Columbus McKinnon family in 2015.
Every Columbus McKinnon product is engineered to help our customers work smarter, while improving the safety, uptime, and productivity of their operations. Our innovative, intelligent solutions combine equipment used to lift and move materials with industry-leading control and automation technology.
