20240514_075820_Crop.jpgDelivering high-quality product and application training is an important part of Columbus McKinnon’s business. Working together with Otto Systems, NBC Universal, and the Cerritos Center for Performing Arts in California, Columbus McKinnon recently held a motor school for 20 participants from the entertainment industry.

Led by Brian Leister, one of the company’s senior trainers and an expert in entertainment rigging, rope access, and hoist maintenance, the course covered the latest products and technical advancements in the CM® electric hoist line, including all versions of the industry-known CM Lodestar® and CM Prostar™ hoists. The class also introduced new advanced inspection techniques focused on reducing downtime and repairs and provided attendees with a library of online documents and videos to support their future product inspection and repair activities.

Following the event, Leister shared his thoughts on the training. “This on-site training, a collective success, truly met the bar of excellence for which Columbus McKinnon is known. It's a testament to our collaborative efforts that we were able to deliver a high-quality learning experience for multiple parties."

Ken Tilson, Columbus McKinnon’s entertainment business development manager, also played a key role in organizing the training. He echoed Leister’s sentiments, attributing the course’s success to the collaboration among the participating organizations. “The distraction-free environment at Cerritos, along with the support from NBC Universal and Otto Systems, created an ideal learning atmosphere,” said Tilson.

Feedback from the event was overwhelmingly positive. “I would like to thank the entire training team and especially Brian, Ken, and Rogan [Girard from the Cerritos Center] for putting together a very informative and professional training program,” said Paul Otto from Otto Systems. “I believe everyone who attended gained a wealth of knowledge and a better understanding of CM and the CM Lodestar. I look forward to another training program in the future.”
