Columbus McKinnon associates are committed to making a difference in their local communities. Whether it's raising money for local homeless shelters through long-term fundraising activities, taking part in dog walks to support the SPCA or coming together to help make a child's wish come true, we are committed to supporting community outreach. Our associates are always looking for ways to give back to our communities year after year -- it's just part of the way we do business.

Animal Shelter Donation

Local shelter Jackson’s Animal Rescue was becoming over-run and needed more supplies. Our Chester office requested a list of items that the shelter urgently needed. Employees set up a drop-off point on site for donations and delivered items to the animal rescue centre.

Community Bake Sale

Columbus McKinnon Chester hosted a bake sale in support of a national cancer charity. Employees wore the colour pink and brought in baked goods to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer.

Festive Toy Collection

In December 2022, the Chester office participated in a Cash for Kids toy drive to ensure every child had the chance to celebrate Christmas. Toys were collected throughout the month of December and delivered for the holidays!

2023 Safety Calendar

The winners of Columbus McKinnon's global safety drawing contest make up the 2023 Safety Calendar! 100% of calendar proceeds go to Kids' Chance of America for scholarships for children affected by a parent's work-related injury or death.

Columbus McKinnon Hungary Competes in Ultrablaton

Columbus McKinnon Hungary set up the Columbus Running Team EMEA that participated in the XVI. NN Ultrabalaton from April 30 to May 1, 2022. The Ultrabalaton is a 210 km relay race around lake Balaton in Hungary. Nine participants from four countries, including employees from our locations in Germany, Italy and Hungary, finished the course in 22:38:14 hours. Congratulations and a big thanks to all runners and helpers for this achievement. Great teamwork!

Pfaff Verkehrstechnik GmbH Ice Cream Day

The Columbus McKinnon Engineered Products GmbH and Pfaff Verkehrstechnik GmbH teams dug into some ice-cream for charity. 800.00 EUR for „Der bunte Kreis,“ a local foundation in Augsburg that supports chronically ill children in the region. This is the amount from our ice cream sold for the 2020 event!

Company Run for Augsburg Chapel Middle School

Once again, Columbus McKinnon participated in the company run in Augsburg, Germany. Each runner paid a registration fee of one Euro, with more than 6,300 runners taking part in the 5.3km run to support the Augsburg Chapel Middle School. This school urgently needed a new outdoor area that would enable the children to play together and allow instructors to teach sports to the students. Thanks to this charity event, a new basketball hoop area has been built for the students. Many thanks to all participating CMCO runners!

Glen Park Cleanup

Associates from Columbus McKinnon's Getzville, New York headquarters spent an October Saturday at Glen Falls in Williamsville, NY, cleaning up the surrounding park for the local community.

ConnectLife Emergency Gear Partner

When COVID-19 shut down local blood drives, Columbus McKinnon Getzville became a ConnectLife “Emergency Gear Partner” instead, helping purchase much-needed gloves, masks, and sanitization materials that will keep donors and staff safe.

Pi Day Fundraiser for Camp Good Days & Special Times

Fundraising for Camp Good Days & Special Times while celebrating π Pi Day at our Getzville, NY headquarters! Associates paid to taste and vote on pies baked by volunteer employee bakers.

Partnership with ConnectLife Buffalo

Columbus McKinnon's Getzville location regularly welcomes ConnectLife, Western New York's only organ, eye, tissue, & community blood center, for on-site blood drives and demonstrations. Educating the community, inspiring donation, and connecting lives.
